“Blood Blockade Battlefront” to Premiere Its Anime Adaptation Next Year

Yasuhiro Nightow‘s Kekkai Sensen (Blood Blockade Battlefront) is expected to release its anime adaptation series next yearNightow, who is also famous for his creation of Trigun, has currently released nine volumes of Blood Blockade Battlefront that have been published by Shueisha in Jump Square magazine. The manga is also published by Dark Horse Comics in North America. The series started in 2009 and is still ongoing.

Rie Matsumoto is directing it under Studio BONES production with Kazunao Furuya as the scriptwriter. Akira Ishida, Unshou Ishizuka, Akio Ohtsuka, Shinji Ogawa, Ai Orikasa, Rie Kugimiya, Yu Kobayashi, Rikiya Koyama, Daisuke Sakaguchi, Kazuya Nakai, Keiji Fujiwara, Hikaru Midorikawa, Mamoru Miyano and Mitsuru Miyamoto are also included in the cast of the upcoming anime series.

Dark Horse’s synopsis:

A breach between Earth and the netherworlds has opened up over the city of New York, trapping New Yorkers and creatures from other dimensions in an impenetrable bubble. They’ve lived together for years, in a world of crazy crime sci-fi sensibilities. Now someone is threatening to sever the bubble, and a group of stylish superhumans is working to keep it from happening.
