Philippine film distributor Pioneer Films confirmed that it will screen the two live-action film adaptations of Hajime Isayama’s Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) manga. The first part of the movie will be shown on August 12, while the second installment, Attack on Titan: End of the World, will open in Philippine theaters on September 23.
The live-action films are slated to be released in Japan on August 1 (Part 1) and September 19 (Part 2). Yuusuke Watanabe and Tomohiro Machiyama are working on the scripts together with the supervision of Hajime Isayama. Shinji Higuchi, on the other hand, is directing the two-part live-action movies. The films star Haruma Miura (Eren Yeager), Mizuhara Kiko (Mikasa Ackerman) and Hongo Kanata (Armin Arlert). Aside from the original characters in the manga, new characters will also be included in the films.
Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan started its serialization in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in 2009. It also spawned a 25-episode anime adaptation which was aired in 2013, and a second season is scheduled to broadcast next year. “Attack on Titan the Movie: Part 1: Crimson Bow and Arrow“, the first of the two-part anime films, was also released in November 2014, while the second installment, Attack on Titan Part II: Wings of Freedom will come out in June this year.
