Cast of Tokyo Ghoul Stage Play in Full Costume Revealed

The official website for the stage play adaptation of Sui Ishida’s Tokyo Ghoul manga recently revealed the names of the cast, led by Yūki Ogoe who will portray the manga’s protagonist Ken Kaneki. And just last week, the website also updated its visuals of the cast in their costumes!

The show, which will be directed by Isamu Kayano, will take place at the AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo from July 2-8 and at the Kyōto Gekijō from July 18-20.

Tokyo Ghoul was first published on Weekly Young Jump magazine in 2011 and it recently concluded last year. A sequel  entitled Tokyo Ghoul:re has been serialized by Shueisha in addition to Sui Ishida’s prequel story Tokyo Ghoul: JACK. An anime adaptation by Studio Pierrot was aired in 2014. The 12-episode series is then followed by Tokyo Ghoul √A. The second season started its broadcast in January this year and concluded in March.

Tokyo Ghoul Unveils Main Character’s Visual for Stage Play Adaptation

It was previously announced on Shueisha’s 17th issue of Weekly Young Jump magazine that Sui Ishida’s Tokyo Ghoul manga is going to have a stage play adaptation. And last Thursday, the official website for the said play released a character visual of the main character Ken Kaneki, which is portrayed by Yūki Ogoe. Other details like the schedule and ticket information are also included in the website. The show will take place at the AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo from July 2-8 and at the Kyōto Gekijō from July 18-20. Pre-reserved tickets will be on sale on May 8 until May 14, while regular tickets will be sold beginning on May 23.

Isamu Kayano will direct the stage play, and Chūji Mikasano will write the script. Joining Yūki Ogoe in the cast are:

“Ace of Diamond” Stage Play Rescheduled to August

The stage play adaptation of Yūji Terajima’s Ace of Diamond manga, which was supposed to run in January, is rescheduled to be performed on August 1-9 this year. The announcement was unveiled in Kodansha’s 23rd issue of Weekly Shōnen Magazine. The play will take place at the Zepp Blue Theater Roppongi, contrary from the original venue which was supposed to be at Tokyo’s Shinjuku Kinokuniya Southern Theatre. Shintarō Asanuma, the voice actor of Yōichi Kuramochi, will serve as the director and scriptwriter under the production of Office ENDLESS. Ren Ozawa will act as Eijun Sawamura, and Tomoki Hirose (Satoru Furuya) and Takuma Wada (Kazuya Miyuki) will join him in the cast. The actors who will play the roles of Haruichi Kominato, Ryōsuke Kominato, Yū Chris Takigawa, Jun Isashiki, Yōichi Kuramochi, and Tetsuya Yūki will be revealed in the next issue of the magazine.

“Haikyuu!!” Anime to Release Two Compilation Films

The anime adaptation of Haruichi Furudate’s Haikyuu! manga was previously confirmed to air its second season this year, and Shueisha recently reported that it will begin its broadcast this fall! In addition to that, it will also have two anime compilation films that will also be released this year. The first movie, Gekijō-ban Haikyu!! Owari to Hajimari (Haikyu!! the Movie: Ending and Beginning), which will open on July 3, will be followed by the second installment titled Gekijō-ban Haikyu!! Shōsha to Haisha (Haikyu!! the Movie: Winners and Losers), which will be screened on September 18. This year’s 17th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine unveiled the news.

A stage play adaptation, which will begin at the AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo in November this year, is also confirmed to take place. The “hyper projection performance” will then travel to Osaka’s Theater Brava! in late November, and finally to the Tagajō Shimin Kaikan’s Great Hall at Miyagi’s Tagajo City Cultural Center in early December. More details will be announced soon regarding the movies and the stage play’s tickets.

Shueisha Announces Tokyo Ghoul’s Stage Play Adaptation

Sui Ishida’s Tokyo Ghoul manga is confirmed to have a stage play adaptation! The report came out after Shueisha announced the news on its 17th issue of Weekly Young Jump magazine. No further details have been released except for the venues which will be in Tokyo and Kyoto.

Fushigi Yugi’s Stage Play Adaptation to Run in March

Another stage play is slated to run this month in Japan’s Shinagawa Prince Hotel Club Ex, and this time, it’s based on Yuu Watase’s manga “Fushigi Yugi”. It is scheduled to start on March 19 until 29 and it stars Golden Bomber’s Yutaka Kyan as Tamahome.The play will be told from his point of view instead of the female protagonist, Miaka Yuuki. Others who are included in the cast are:
