Naruto Chapter 700: Uzumaki Naruto!!! (ENDING)

=SPOILERS AHEAD!=

The last chapter is set a few years after the Fourth Shinobi War. Naruto and Sasuke successfully dissolved Infinite Tsukuyomi and saved everyone who was put under the genjutsu. The first page of chapter 700 takes us back to where everything started: Konoha.

The class of Aburame Shino has finished earlier than usual since a Gokage meeting will take place in the village later. Bolt (Boruto) plans to do a prank and he invites his classmates with him. However, Inojin and Shikadai refuse to come while Chouchou goes with Anko-sensei to eat some dango and anmitsu. He walks out of the academy and complains how no one came with him. He is unaware of his other classmate, Sarada who pursues him secretly.

Hinata and her daughter Himawari visit the grave of Neji, while Rock Lee continues to train arduously and passes his belief in youth onto his (presumably) son. Tenten, on the other hand, establishes her own weapon’s shop, but her business doesn’t seem to be going well since the world has already become too peaceful. Gaara and Kankuro drop by Temari‘s house before the meeting and there, they see their nephew Shikadai who has just gone back home after the class. Kiba is shown chatting with Tamaki, who used to work with her grandmother Nekobaa.

Meanwhile, Sai, Ino, Chouji and Karui are waiting for the children to begin their training but upon seeing his mom’s fury for them being late, Inojin gets scared to come out especially without Shikadai and Chouchou. Kurenai‘s daughter informs her mother about her trip with Kakashi and Gai after she offers some prayers in Asuma’s altar. Kakashi visits Gai who is now on a wheelchair and tells him about the nostalgic tour that he plans to take after quitting his job as the sixth hokage.

The Fourth Raikage points out how Onoki, the Third Tsuchikage, has become weak over the years that they can’t even conduct their ex-kage meeting properly. The meeting, however, seems to be just a mere get-together of the former Kage where they simply drink and complain together. Tsunade tells Mei that it is already too late for her as the latter complains about the scarcity of nice men. Gyuki (Eight-tails) tells Killer B how busy Naruto is nowadays compared to him who is just playing around. He is thinking of visiting Naruto since he is bored.

Back to Konoha, Shikamaru informs the seventh Hokage about the meeting. However, before they can even leave, Udon and Moegi rush to the room and tell them about an emergency. The Hokage instantly understands the situation and he immediately goes to stop Bolt from ruining the Hokage Monument. He talks with his son and orders him to clean the mess. He explains his situation to his first child and tells him that he needs to endure it because he is also a ninja. They both climb down and Bolt is scolded by his teacher, Konohamaru.

Sarada returns home after stalking Bolt and she complains to her mother Sakura about how stupid guys are. Sakura instantly knows that she is referring to Bolt, but her daughter added that she feels like she resembles Bolt a little when it comes to their relationship with their fathers. It is shown that Sasuke continues to travel around the world.

The Gokage meeting has finally commenced, and the four leaders of each village are waiting for the arrival of the Hokage. The last Kage enters, and apologizes for being late. Kurotsuchi, the Fourth Tsuchikage and the Sixth Mizukage Chōjūrō both complain but Darui, who is now the Fifth Raikage tells the other two to just forgive him. Gaara signals everyone to stop with the personal chat and begin the summit. Uzumaki Naruto, who has finally achieved his dream of becoming the village’s Hokage, starts the  Gokage meeting, as Kurama is shown lazily napping somewhere in the village, and the page zooms to the statue of Naruto engraved in the Hokage Mountain.

Five Most Epic Battles in Naruto

To commemorate all those years that I’ve spent reading and watching Naruto, I decided to make some lists regarding our favorite shinobi from Konoha. Perhaps you have already heard, but the serialization of the manga is going to end next month, November 10. And while I’m still in denial about the whole matter, I will try to write some posts about Naruto. And I’m going to start it with my top five favorite battles in Naruto Shippuden (before the start of the Fourth Shinobi War) that left me at the edge of my seat.

#5. Sakura and Chiyo Vs. Sasori (From Season 1, episodes 20-27)

I decided to include this one in my list since I wanted to give credit to Sakura and Chiyo for their victory against the first Akatsuki member who was killed in the series. Their teamwork worked out in the end though both of them sustained grave injuries. A short background story about Sasori’s life was also shown in these episodes which made them even more interesting. This part also showcased Sakura’s development as a kunoichi and a medic ninja. Kudos also to Granny Chiyo for her exemplary skills despite her age.

#4. Danzo Vs. Sasuke (Season 10 Ep. 208-211)

Danzo proved how powerful he was against Sasuke and with both of them possessing the power of Sharingan, the battle was incredibly gripping. The episodes revealed the true power of Danzo and the ten sharingan that he embedded and concealed on his right arm. Sasuke also exhibited his immense strength against a mighty opponent, even managing to defeat him at the end.

#3. Sasuke Vs. Itachi (Season 6 Ep.135-138)

Intense, gripping and emotional—that is how I’d describe the battle between these Uchiha brothers. We all know how strong Uchiha Itachi was, and even at the finale of their fight, he still obviously prevailed against Sasuke even though he died. Aside from the epic clash between them, bits of flashbacks when Itachi murdered the whole clan were also shown. You see, Itachi deserves an award for his perfect portrayal of a villain. (And dang, up to now, his death still makes me go teary.)

#2. Jiraiya Vs. Pain (Season 6 Episodes 129-133)

As the leader of Akatsuki, we knew just how difficult it would be to defeat him, even if his opponent was one of the Sannin. In this battle, we got to see the real power of the Perverted Sage, and learned how he was connected to Pain (Nagato) and Konan. The whole fight was action-packed, especially when the Six Paths of Pain were introduced. Jiraiya was definitely worthy to be called a legend, but I still can’t replay the last part without tearing up. WARNING: You have to prepare a roll of tissue for this scene.

#1. Naruto Vs. Pain (Invasion of Pain Arc Season 8 Episodes 159-175)

This definitely has got to be the number 1 in this list! This arc lasted for more than 10 episodes and involved many other characters in the battle including Hatake Kakashi and Tsunade. (I also got somewhat traumatized when I thought Kakashi would also die in the series. The consecutive deaths of Itachi and Jiraiya haunted me.) A more powerful Pain attacked the whole village which was destroyed in an instant. And just before everything got worse, Naruto turned up to face the Akatsuki leader after his training at Mount Myōboku. And that was when the epic battle began.

And there you have it! I know I missed a lot of other amazing fight scenes in this list (cause Naruto has tons of that), but I will try to make up for them in case I have the time to write a continuation for this. Words are probably not enough to describe how epic those episodes are, so you guys better check them out and see for yourselves!

Now, which of the battle scenes in Naruto Shippuden do you like the most?

Naruto Final Countdown

As you all know, Naruto is going to end its serialization this coming November 10. The manga has been serialized for 15 years and has also spawned several films, video games, OVAs and an anime adaptation. And to commemorate all those years that the fans have spent with Naruto, its official website is doing a final countdown before the ending takes place next month. As you scroll down, you will find a timeline of the story with images from the manga including its characters and some important events that took place in the series. You can also find some memorable quotes from some of the characters including Uchiha Itachi, Hatake Kakashi, Jiraiya, and others. (So if you are ready to shed some tears while reminiscing all those years you’ve spent with Naruto, go check the website.)

Naruto Chapter 692: Revolution!

SPOILERS

After Naruto bids farewell to his father Minato, all of the Kage vanish as each of them relays their final words to Naruto and his friends. The Hokage, in particular, entrust everything to them, especially to Naruto and Sasuke. As for the tailed beasts, they decide to go back to their homes since they are already free. Kurama, on the other hand, asks the Eight-tails about his plans. Gyuki responds that he will probably return to Bee as he has already gotten attached with him and his terrible rap. He then poses the same question to the Kyubi who remains silent. Hagoromo speaks up and informs the bijuu that they can communicate and set up a meeting place inside Naruto since he has bits of their chakra. He also appoints Kurama with the task of managing it, so he must remain inside his jinchuuriki. Kurama accepts the task without any second thoughts. (He just wants to stay inside Naruto, that’s why.) Hagoromo also asks Naruto and Sasuke if they changed their minds after the fight. Naruto states that his answer remains the same, although he realized even more how kindhearted his mom really was. And since Naruto and Sasuke successfully placed the seal, it should also dispel the Infinite Tsukuyomi without any problems. All that’s left is for Sasuke’s answer.

naruto-5185085

Damn it, Sasuke.

And his first plan is to execute the five Kage that are still under the genjutsu. He decides that extracting his revenge by destruction would have been useless, so he has now changed his plans. He wants to become the Hokage and reform the entire Shinobi world through a revolution. Immediately after that, he casts all the tailed beasts under his control using his sharingan. With chibaku tensei, he seals the bijuu back, and before he gets totally contained in the sphere, Kurama pleads Naruto to help them. Naruto promises him that he will get them out of there soon no matter what.

Sasuke, on the other hand, implies that everyone who was in his way is now gone…everyone, except Naruto. Hagoromo laments and compares the turn out of events with the past situation of his sons. Naruto quickly objects with this and ascertains him that they will never end up like his sons Ashura and Indra, because…

brother's feud

========================================================

And that’s the story of how the fandom started its own revolution as well LOL. And let’s face it. Majority of us fans (yep, including me!) got really mad at Sasuke for declaring a revolution especially when the fight with Kaguya has just ended. Well, let’s just wait and see what is going to happen in the next chapter, and if Naruto will really be able to stop Sasuke. (I wonder what’s going to happen to Kakashi, though. I hope he will not die. The fact that there is no draft of him for the upcoming movie makes me really anxious.)

Well, what do you guys think of this chapter? Comment your reactions below!

Naruto Chapter 691: Congratulations!

WARNING: You guys better prepare a roll of tissue or a handkerchief because this chapter is overflowing with emotions. And oh, this contains spoilers. Read this chapter here.

Following the defeat of Kaguya, Hagoromo, who summoned the previous Kage, thanks Kakashi, Sakura, Sasuke and Naruto for saving the world. This chapter is basically just about farewell. Kakashi thanks Obito for bestowing him his power, and the sharingan that he lent to his friend vanishes with him as Obito disappears to reunite with Rin. And so the curtain falls on Kakashi of the Sharingan.

kurama

Kurama giving Naruto the *dirty* finger. LOL. Actually, he is just trying to conceal his embarrassment.

Obito_Kakashi

Obito and Kakashi saying good bye to each other.

Meanwhile, Sasuke notices Madara lying on the ground, and as he tries to get near him, he is stopped by the Sage. Apparently, Madara cannot be saved anymore, so Hagoromo tells Sasuke and Naruto to get a glimpse of their last predecessors for the final time. Madara awakes to see Hashirama next to him and they both reminisce about their dreams and friendship. Somehow, Madara feels a little remorseful for the path he has taken, and he closes his eyes as he whispers his last words. (Believe me, this scene tore my heart to pieces esp. when I saw Hashirama’s expression.)

Hashimada

HashiMada talking to each other in their final moments. And look at that downcast expression of Hashirama. I am crestfallen as well.

Naruto, on the other hand, goes to Minato and there, they have their final conversation with each other as father and son. Minato greets Naruto a happy birthday, and promises to tell Kushina about everything as he bursts into tears.

Minato

And before he totally vanishes, Naruto asks his father to tell his mom not to worry about him. After all, he has a lot of really good friends and he has a dream that he wants to achieve, and that is to follow the steps of his father and become a good Hokage like him. He wants to assure her that he follows all her advice which serves as his guidance as he grows up. And as Minato and the other Kage fade away from the scene, Naruto finally lets out the tears that he has been holding back. It is an inevitable farewell, after all.

naruto

So to sum it all, this chapter is all about these heartbreaking scenes between Hashirama/Madara, Kakashi/Obito and Naruto/Minato. Someone should have given me a warning before I read this manga. I didn’t expect to be crying just like Naruto in the picture above. But I guess it’s just right to do it this way. Just like what is written at the end of today’s chapter, THIS FAREWELL IS INEVITABLE, and this good bye is just the beginning of another episode in Naruto’s life. *sniffs*

Naruto Chapter 690: Ninja’s…!!!

(Alright. I’m just glad that the new chapter is finally out. I don’t know why it was delayed but nah. Better late than never. 😀 And oh, the newest episode of Naruto Shippuden is already out, as well. ^^)

WARNING: Spoilers ahead.

For those who read the previous chapter, you would know that Sakura landed a punch on Kaguya, which enabled Sasuke and Naruto to corner her. And thus, Chapter 690 begins!

CHIBAKU TENSEI! With that, Sasuke and Naruto finally gets to seal Kaguya with the powers that are entrusted to them by Hagoromo. Kaguya laments over her defeat and recollects the image of her sons, Hagoromo and Hamura as she is being sealed again by the other two.  All of the tailed-beasts are also released as the earth crumples and forms into a gigantic ball. Son Goku (Four-Tails) compliments Kurama’s jinchuuriki for what he has done. (But he later points out how stupid Naruto actually is at the same time. Lol. ) Amidst the turmoil, Uchiha Madara gets spit out by one of the beasts and lays on the ground unconscious. Naruto, on the other hand, goes to search for Black Zetsu. He sends him off to the huge mass of rock when Zetsu tried to mock him as a brat who is just part of the shinobi history that he created.

Good bye, Zetsu.

Way to go, Naruto!

After he dispatches Zetsu, he returns to his team members and both he and Sakura fret on how they are going to get out of that dimension. At that moment, Hagoromo appears in front of them. Kurama and the rest of the tailed-beasts surround them, too. Joining them are the “Five Kage” from their respective villages who are summoned by Hagoromo.  Minato welcomes his son back as the chapter concludes with Hagoromo’s words of appreciation for everyone’s help to save the world.

The Five Kage: Hokage, Kazekage, Mizukage, Raikage and Tsuchikage (cr: Mangapanda)

(A small dose of HashiMada in this chapter. Teehee. Just look at that expression of Hashirama as he silently stares at Madara. *sniff* )

Can I just get Madara out of that place?

Can I just get Madara’s body? If no one’s willing to pay attention to him, then let me nurse him back to health. Lol.

Naruto Shippuden Episode 373: Team 7 Assemble!

WARNING: This contains spoilers.

The episode starts with Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura standing in front of the juubi which is still trapped inside the red barrier created by the four hokage. As they are about to attack, Hashirama stops them to see the Ten-tails going on a rampage. It fires out a tailed-beast bomb but fortunately, the barrier is strong enough to contain the bomb and instead, the attack is sent upwards. Hashirama then creates some Wooden Clones and assists each group of shinobi to the entry points in the wall so they can go in and out of it and attack the sealed beast.

HashiMada Alert: One of Hashirama’s clones goes to meet Madara to settle their score once again. However, Madara tells him that he doesn’t want to fight a mere clone. He will not be satisfied unless he fights the real Hashirama, so he will just wait for him to come. Teehee. )

Back to the battlefield. Even though the juubi is already restrained by the seals, it still manages to spawn some of its clones directly from its body to prevent the allied forces from getting near it. Team 7 prepare themselves to battle, as Sakura takes her time to reminisce the days when Naruto and Sasuke had to protect her all the time. Back then, she had to constantly look at the back of her teammates helplessly while they were fighting to shield her from danger. And to be a full-pledged kunoichi, she pleaded the fifth hokage to take her as an apprentice and she spent the next few years training to be stronger. And now, she is finally able to show off her worth as Tsunade’s disciple.

She unleashes the Byakugo no In (Strength of a Hundred Seal) and a mark on her forehead appears. She punches the ground and its impact sends the humanoid-like clones off, scaring Naruto and impressing the First Hokage with her strength that’s probably much greater than Tsunade’s.

Naruto gets frightened by Sakura's immense strength.

Naruto gets frightened by Sakura’s immense strength.

The power that the trio display in their attacks inspires and motivates the other teams to join the battle and show off their own techniques. Sai also finally makes his appearance as part of Team 7 (yey! I thought they already kicked him out of the group lol). However, before he can even attack the ten-tails from above, he gets assaulted by one of the clones and falls mid-air but is luckily saved by Naruto.

The enemies keep getting bigger in size and in numbers, so Sai asks Naruto if he can share his chakra with everyone again. Unfortunately, Kurama is still not yet finished amassing his chakra so it’s impossible to do it. This makes it even more difficult for Sai and the rest of the shinobi to get past the clones, and so Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura respond to Sai’s concerns by weaving their Summoning Technique. And poof! Gamakichi, Aoda and Katsuyu appear!

They are indeed the disciples of the Legendary Sannin

They are indeed the disciples of the Legendary Sannin

Oh yeah! It’s like seeing the new generation of the Legendary Sannin! Minus the recollection of Sakura, everything else is totally sugoi with all the action scenes and techniques being shown by the characters in the episode. I got really excited watching each team’s development and new techniques. Kiba’s got a new jutsu (Man-Beast Team Transformation Combo) and gives birth to a Three-Headed Wolf (which is pretty cool). Shino’s Parasitic Gigantic Beetle Infestation, from the name itself, infests the body of its host and devours its flesh if the amount of chakra given is not proper, thus, resulting to the abrupt growth of the parasites inside. (My initial reaction was very much similar to that of Ino’s. Gross. But still amazing. 🙂 ) Hinata, on the other hand, manages to surpass her limits and proceeds to use her Eight Triagrams Sixty-Four Palms. As for Team 10, their Ino-Shika-Cho Combination Attack just leveled-up and they form a Human Boulder Yo-yo (which reminds me of Ultraman lol).

Team 8: Kiba, Shino and Hinata Team 10: Shikamaru, Chouji and Ino

Team 8: Kiba, Shino and Hinata
Team 10: Shikamaru, Chouji and Ino

Well, the throwback scenes about Sakura were necessary to fully convey her growth as an average shinobi to a more powerful one, enough to be on par with her master, Lady Tsunade. Look forward to more awesome battle scenes in the upcoming episodes of Naruto Shippuden!

Next time on Naruto Shippuden: “The New Three“.

Naruto Chapter 689: I Like You

WARNING: This contains spoilers. Read at your own risk.  As you may all know, Obito returned from the dead to give his eyes to Kakashi, enabling the latter to have a pair of sharingan. He also managed to save Sakura with his Susanoo in the previous chapter. The new chapter begins with an attack from Kakashi using his kamui shuriken. Kaguya then transports everyone to another dimension while creating a gigantic gudouma. Kakashi signals the other three to come up to him and discusses his strategies to defeat the rabbit granny. (As what Naruto called her lol) As Naruto and Sasuke advance to Kaguya, Kakashi tries to attack her from above but she is able to pierce him from there. Fortunately, Kakashi adopts the same technique of Obito where he can pass through things. Hence, he is not injured at all. At the same time, he uses his Kamui Raikiri against Kaguya who gets hit on her right arm. Sasuke and Naruto immediately show up from both sides, and without enough time, she tries to attack both of them but fails, and everything seems to go well according to their plan. naruto1 Well, to make it short, Team 7 manage to corner Kaguya, and Sakura ends the chapter with her surprise attack from above. Now, will Sasuke and Naruto be able to seal her away? We gotta find out next week!

Team 7 as they attack Kaguya from all sides.

A Summary: Naruto Episode 372- “Something to Fill the Hole”

WARNING: May contain spoilers for those who haven’t watched the latest episode yet.

After the short background story of Hashirama and Madara in the previous episodes, the scene is finally back to the battlefield. With Kakashi being driven to another dimension by Obito, Naruto, with the rest of the gang, was left with the 10-tails and Madara. Sakura was healing him since his chakra was depleted after trying to protect everyone from the Juubi’s attack. And finally. YES. AT LONG LAST, THE FOUR HOKAGE FINALLY MADE THEIR APPEARANCE. Minato first came as he diverted the ten-tail’s bomb and sent it to the sea.

Hashirama, Tobirama, Hiruzen & Minato

Hashirama, Tobirama, Hiruzen & Minato

Madara: “I’ve been waiting for you, Hashirama!”

HASHIRAMA: “I’ll deal with you later!”

With slumped shoulders and a pained expression on his face, he stopped short on his tracks, his heart crushed by Hashirama’s cold rejection. The four of them positioned themselves and performed the Ninja Art Four Crimson Ray Formation, creating a red barrier around the Juubi. Hashirama then did his Sage Art: Gracious Deity Gates, pinning the Ten-Tails on the ground with his ten seals. They were able to temporarily slow down and restrain the movement of the beast with that technique.

"It's a barrier that requires four Hokage-class shinobi together to create."-Gai

“It’s a barrier that requires four Hokage-class shinobi together to create.”-Gai

Right after that, Uchiha Sasuke made his grand and fabulous entrance to the scene. Obviously, everyone (except Naruto since he already sensed his chakra beforehand) was surprised to see the rogue shinobi all of a sudden. They were all suspicious of him. And much to their disbelief, Sasuke proclaimed his desire to become the next Hokage. (You guys must definitely watch their reaction. It was all hilarious.)

"...but you guys are taking too much time."

“…but you guys are taking too much time.”

Sasuke and Naruto both advanced to the battlefield, leaving Sakura behind. She later on followed them as well, informing them that she isn’t that weak to be removed out of the picture. After all, she is also a member of Team 7, and a student of one of the Legendary Sannin.

"Let's show them what we're made of, ya know!"-Naruto

“Let’s show them what we’re made of, ya know!”-Naruto

Oh yes! Team 7 is finally back! Watch out for the next episode: “Team 7 Assemble!”

Sai is not amused.
