Nishiki Nishio meets Kaneki on top of the building and assures him that Touka and Hinami are safe. Just then, Shuu Tsukiyama suddenly shows up and attacks Kaneki. He struggles to stop Kaneki from joining the fight as he raves about eating him. However, Kaneki easily subdues him as he lies on the ground weeping, still trying to prevent him from going. Kaneki thanks him for his concern, but he states that he can’t stand not being able to do anything anymore.
