The Last: Naruto the Movie Second Teaser

Another teaser about the upcoming Naruto movie has been released! “The Last: Naruto the Movie” is scheduled to premiere in Japan on December 6 as the tenth overall Naruto film, two years after Naruto the Movie: Road to Ninja was released. Masashi Kishimoto himself is taking part in the film’s story concept and character designs, while Tsuneo Kobayashi is directing it. The film is also part of the “Naruto Shin Jidai Kaimaku Project” (Naruto’s New Era Opening Project) marking the 15th anniversary of the manga. Jun Fukuyama is joining the cast of the movie as Toneri Ōtsutsuki, a  descendant of the Ōtsutsuki bloodline. The story takes place years after the Fourth Shinobi War, and as the moon threatens to crumble and destroy the Earth, a mysterious man abducts Hanabi Hyuga. Naruto, together with his friends, must save Hinata’s younger sister in their final battle that will decide their fate.

And to hype things up, a second teaser has been released which shows the rest of the characters such as Sai, Shikamaru, Hinata, Sasuke, Gaara and Kakashi.

Noblesse is a Korean webtoon written by Son Jae Ho and illustrated by Lee Kwang Soo. It was first published on Naver in 2007 and it currently has 343 episodes. I have just recently begun reading this a few days ago and it actually exceeded my expectations. What’s good about this webtoon is that the chapters are released every week, unlike other Korean manhwa that I have read before where it takes months before they are updated. The story revolves around magical beings such as vampires (Nobles) and werewolves who get entangled in the human world. The humans have continuously sought more power over the years, which enabled them to create modified humans through experiments conducted by some organizations and individuals. Hence, the fight among humans, nobles and werewolves started.

All the chapters in this webtoon are brilliantly drawn by Lee Kwang Soo and what’s even better is that all the panels are colored! (I guess this is one of the special features of an online manhwa.)  This makes it even more different compared to the traditional black and white pages of a Japanese manga/Korean manhwa.  It makes the drawing more vivid and provides more life to the characters in the story. It is in fact, almost similar to an anime. (Though it’s almost impossible, I still hope that Noblesse will have an anime adaptation in the future because it has a lot of potential. I actually chanced upon a video/teaser on Youtube about Noblesse, but unfortunately, it seemed like there was nothing more to it. I just don’t understand why Koreans don’t animate their manhwa. It’s such a waste. T.T)

Characters

Characters

The story line is great and each character has his/her own share of limelight.  The pace is also good and the scenes don’t seem rushed. Everything is well-organized which makes it even easier to comprehend what’s going on in the entire series. It’s written in a way that enables the readers to connect with the characters and relate to them completely. If there would be any downside to this, that would probably be the fact that your bias list would get ruined every time a new character is introduced. LOL. You would totally be overwhelmed with all the bishounen that you would meet in the story.

The third factor that makes Noblesse a must-read webtoon is its humorous content. Almost every episode has at least one or two comedic scenes that would definitely leave you roaring in laughter. You see, the noblesse here in the story is supposed to act like a royalty whose power is even stronger than the Lord of the nobles, but you wouldn’t expect him to be a total noob. The rest of the characters (especially RK-5 and the students) complement each other to provide its readers some comedic relief from the intense and gripping fight scenes in the chapters.

No, M-21, the banana doesn’t hold any secret.

The story hasn’t concluded yet, but I’m sure that my current impression about it will not change. To wrap things up, I’d give this webtoon a rating of 10 out of 10! The art, the story, the characters—-everything is perfect. *WINK* It’s definitely a must-read webtoon.

Naruto Chapter 698: Naruto and Sasuke 5

Naruto and Sasuke’s fight has finally come to an end. Both of them use their remaining chakra to deliver their final blow to each other. Sasuke uses kagutsuchi while Naruto attacks him with rasengan using the last bit of chakra Kurama gave him. The final assault causes both of them to lose consciousness and they both wake up later to find themselves lying side by side. They can’t move that much since they might bleed to death, with their arms getting severed from their earlier clash. Once again, Sasuke asks Naruto why he would risk everything just to save him from darkness. As his best friend, Naruto explains to him that he can also feel the pain and burden he carries. Sasuke recollects the past as he remembers how Naruto and the rest of Team 7 remind him of his own family. And how, just like Naruto, he could also relate to his suffering that caused him to create a bond with him. But at the same time, that feeling turned to envy when he saw how Naruto grew stronger than him. Sasuke’s recollection of the past comes to a halt when they both fall asleep again.

The next morning, as they both wake up, Sasuke finally admits his defeat with a smile on his face as he acknowledges his rival. Surprised, Naruto tells him that there are no winners or losers in their fight, because he just merely wants to make his friend realize the wrong path he wanted to take. Sasuke tells Naruto that if he dies, Naruto can just dissolve the Infinite Tsukuyomi by transplanting his left eye to Kakashi. Naruto stops him from sprouting nonsense as if he is about to die and tells him that he only wants to unite all shinobi including him. Sasuke asks him how he can be certain that he will not come after him again, but before Naruto can provide an explanation, he sees the profile of Sasuke…in tears.

“Shut up, stupid.”

=============

This chapter was just too much for me to handle. The bond between these two has seeped in to the very depths of my otaku soul. After all those years, only the two of them could relate to each other’s feelings. Seeing Sasuke shed tears after all the villainous deeds he made in the previous chapters, somehow, made my heart break into pieces.  I think it’s now safe to assume that Naruto succeeded in saving his friend from falling into the pit of darkness. Even without their arms, their blood is still linked which symbolizes the strong bond between them. *sighs* Naruto and Sasuke, you just don’t know how the fandom is drowning in feels right now.

Naruto Chapter 697: Naruto and Sasuke Part 4

The final battle between Naruto and Sasuke ensues. The war between them has started since Chapter 694, and I swear, I was almost at my limit with the recent development of the series. I didn’t want the manga to end with just the two of them clinching all the panels by themselves. Fortunately, tonight’s chapter is much better than the previous one. Sakura and Kakashi somehow manage to squeeze some panels for themselves as Sakura finally wakes up from the genjutsu that Sasuke cast on her. She asks Kakashi about her teammates, and he tells her about the two settling their scores at the moment.

Sasuke and Naruto continue to strike each other

Sasuke and Naruto exchanging blows

After the long struggle, the two seem to be exhausted (at last) after Sasuke assaults Naruto with his most powerful technique. The impact from Indra’s Arrow sends the two of them plummeting to the ground. They continue to strike each other using every bit of their remaining energy, with their emotions surging and passing through their attacks. Kurama tries to give some of his chakra to Naruto, but to their surprise, Sasuke manages to absorb it thanks to the power of his Rinnegan. This allows him to charge his chidori and confront Naruto. Sasuke then bids farewell to him as he readies himself to deliver his final blow to his only friend.

===========

First of all, I’m just so glad that the battle between those two seems to conclude soon. With only a few chapters left, I am hoping that something good will come out of this long struggle between Naruto and Sasuke. The recently concluded war caused so much destruction to the village, and those two only added further damage to it LOL. How could they decapitate the statues of Hashirama and Madara? T.T On the other hand, I somehow got nonplussed with Sasuke’s new outfit. He kinda looked like a high school student for me when his “skirt” was removed during the battle. LOL 😛

Five Most Epic Battles in Naruto

To commemorate all those years that I’ve spent reading and watching Naruto, I decided to make some lists regarding our favorite shinobi from Konoha. Perhaps you have already heard, but the serialization of the manga is going to end next month, November 10. And while I’m still in denial about the whole matter, I will try to write some posts about Naruto. And I’m going to start it with my top five favorite battles in Naruto Shippuden (before the start of the Fourth Shinobi War) that left me at the edge of my seat.

#5. Sakura and Chiyo Vs. Sasori (From Season 1, episodes 20-27)

I decided to include this one in my list since I wanted to give credit to Sakura and Chiyo for their victory against the first Akatsuki member who was killed in the series. Their teamwork worked out in the end though both of them sustained grave injuries. A short background story about Sasori’s life was also shown in these episodes which made them even more interesting. This part also showcased Sakura’s development as a kunoichi and a medic ninja. Kudos also to Granny Chiyo for her exemplary skills despite her age.

#4. Danzo Vs. Sasuke (Season 10 Ep. 208-211)

Danzo proved how powerful he was against Sasuke and with both of them possessing the power of Sharingan, the battle was incredibly gripping. The episodes revealed the true power of Danzo and the ten sharingan that he embedded and concealed on his right arm. Sasuke also exhibited his immense strength against a mighty opponent, even managing to defeat him at the end.

#3. Sasuke Vs. Itachi (Season 6 Ep.135-138)

Intense, gripping and emotional—that is how I’d describe the battle between these Uchiha brothers. We all know how strong Uchiha Itachi was, and even at the finale of their fight, he still obviously prevailed against Sasuke even though he died. Aside from the epic clash between them, bits of flashbacks when Itachi murdered the whole clan were also shown. You see, Itachi deserves an award for his perfect portrayal of a villain. (And dang, up to now, his death still makes me go teary.)

#2. Jiraiya Vs. Pain (Season 6 Episodes 129-133)

As the leader of Akatsuki, we knew just how difficult it would be to defeat him, even if his opponent was one of the Sannin. In this battle, we got to see the real power of the Perverted Sage, and learned how he was connected to Pain (Nagato) and Konan. The whole fight was action-packed, especially when the Six Paths of Pain were introduced. Jiraiya was definitely worthy to be called a legend, but I still can’t replay the last part without tearing up. WARNING: You have to prepare a roll of tissue for this scene.

#1. Naruto Vs. Pain (Invasion of Pain Arc Season 8 Episodes 159-175)

This definitely has got to be the number 1 in this list! This arc lasted for more than 10 episodes and involved many other characters in the battle including Hatake Kakashi and Tsunade. (I also got somewhat traumatized when I thought Kakashi would also die in the series. The consecutive deaths of Itachi and Jiraiya haunted me.) A more powerful Pain attacked the whole village which was destroyed in an instant. And just before everything got worse, Naruto turned up to face the Akatsuki leader after his training at Mount Myōboku. And that was when the epic battle began.

And there you have it! I know I missed a lot of other amazing fight scenes in this list (cause Naruto has tons of that), but I will try to make up for them in case I have the time to write a continuation for this. Words are probably not enough to describe how epic those episodes are, so you guys better check them out and see for yourselves!

Now, which of the battle scenes in Naruto Shippuden do you like the most?

“Assassination Classroom” to Premiere Its Live-Action Movie and Anime Series Next year

Yūsei Matsui‘s manga series Assassination Classroom, which began its serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2012, is going to have its live-action film adaptation next year! It is directed by Eiichiro Hasumi and is scheduled to be released on March 21, 2015, under the production of Robot. Some of the actors/actresses included in the movie are as follows:

  • Ryosuke Yamada as Nagisa Shiota
  • Masaki Suda as Karuma Akabane
  • Maika Yamamoto as Kaede Kayano
  • Seika Taketomi as Rio Nakamura
  • Mio Yuki as Yukiko Kanzaki
  • Miku Uehara as Manami Okuda

Kippei Shiina, on the other hand, will play the role of Class 3-E’s assistant teacher Tadaomi Karasuma. However, the actor who will portray the character of Koro-sensei, has not been revealed yet.

Aside from the live-action film, Assassination Classroom will also broadcast its anime adaptation series in January next year on Fuji TV. The story revolves around the students of Class 3-E of Kunugigaoka Junior High School, who are given the task to kill their homeroom teacher Koro-sensei. The teacher is an artificial creation with a form similar to an octopus with eight tentacles. He threatens to destroy the Earth but at the same time, he is dedicated to his job as a teacher and even imparts his knowledge about assassination to his students. The mission to assassinate Koro-sensei proves to be difficult for the students as he possesses inhuman abilities.

=================

English Translation

In the town after a sudden shower,
I said good-bye to you and waved my hand.
When you were passing the ticket gate, I only followed you with my eyes.
I couldn’t do as well as I’d expected.

My heart was fulfilled with small lights.
I walked along taking care not to step into puddles.
Somehow I couldn’t be free and willful,
As well as I imagined.

I’m fearful that something is broken.
Today is passing away.

The railway takes you away.
So I always go home by weary usual way.
The word I arranged is simple.
But I can’t say it well.
Why is it so? Why is it so?

“Even if we are on unpleasant terms with each other,
Our relationship can be rebuild.
Nothing has started yet.”
Another myself advise me.

Before the doors were opened, I checked my answer.
The alarm from a crossing had gotten larger.
If I could showed you my noisy mind,
What would be happened?

My heart is nervous, but it never cools down.
I ride it past the stop,
And I get aware of it again today.

The railway takes you away.
So I always go home by weary usual way.
The word I arranged is simple.
But I can’t say it well.
Why is it so? Why is it so?
